To blog, or not to blog? That is the question.

Once a blog has been configured the fun begins. Let your creativity be your guide. Anything that you create can be edited, or removed, so try things out. Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

-Consider your blog a blank canvas. You are the artist. What do you want the blog to convey?

-If your Syllabus, Lesson Plans, Objectives, or Notes are Word files, then you can copy and paste them into your blog.

-Maybe a blog for each class would be a good idea. They can be carried over from year to year with only editing.

-Us the blog with graphics and links to get at tough concepts, or sticking points. Your blog can be a basic tool, or used for reinforcing and re-teaching harder ideas.

-Buddy-up with someone in your department that is teaching the same course. Plan together. Share your logins and passwords. You can save each other a lot of work this way.

-Build a series of blogs and link them together.

a. Homework Blog

b. Calendar Blog

c. Lecture Notes Blog

d. Objectives Blog

e. Links Blog

f. Parent blog with messages from you about class functions.

-Put pertinent class data, or parent information (your e-mail, etc) on the blog and send the URL to parents through a take-home or e-mail them.

-Use one of your blogs as a communication device. Logon in the evening for an hour and answer questions for your student
